In March this year AMTD became an NCFE approved centre, this is in addition to us being an EDI approved centre. NCFE and EDI are in the top 4 awarding bodies in the country and we are proud to be approved by 2 such centres.

In Sept we were vistied by Christine Bennett who conducted our first External Moderator visit . This visit lasted 3 hours and Christine was thorough, professional and  a real pleasure to work with.

We are thrilled with the level 1 grade we achieved and aim to maintain our high standards. We received no action points at all !

This achievment is a result of the close working relationship we have with our cutomer the British Legion and the excellent work carried out by Val Shaughnessy the training manager at the British Legion and Alison Meadows the internal moderator at AMTD the training centre.

We have just had our, once every five years ,inspection from the inspection arm of the HSE. We are, acording to them ,a “first class training organisation” !! Not only is our training first class but we are £100 cheaper than our 2 major competitors! dates of our courses can be found on our website

  • The appointed persons course which is currently not regulated by the HSE meaning anybody could run these courses , will be regulated by the HSE but this course will only require approx 3 hours training and will train people to be aware of legislation, be competent at reporting of accidents and summoning assistance as well as maintaining first aid stock levels.
  • A new grade of first aider is born ! The Emergency First Aider course is 1 day it will be regulated by the HSE and covers emergency first aid in the workplace.
